Affiance: FIRE!
I've talked about Affiance already on this blog. But I wanted to talk about this SICK video they recently made for "FIRE!". And the new album I wanted to buy and review on this blog soon. But they're literally ON FIRE. I'm not sure how it's done, I think it's some kind of flame retardant oil or something. It's a pretty sick video and the song is pretty good too. Affiance is slowly becoming one of my favorite metalcore bands. They don't exactly sound like Protest The Hero but there are similarities and Dennis is such a sick vocalist. Check out the song and video below.
For All I Am:Update
Kingdom Of Giants
Within The Ruins
Within The Ruins is a progressive DeathCore band. I found out about them over the summer and I think they're pretty good. I'm listened to Invade, Elite and Phenomena. I have to say I like Elite the most and Phenomena is probably my second favorite album from them so far. Hopefully I can pick up both this weekend. The band is pretty good, the lyrics are typical on Elitle. But on Phoenea there is a concept based on Marvel and DC Comics, for example "Gods Among Men" is about Professor Xavier and Magneto having a back and force kinda debate and argument. It's pretty good and the song is pretty sick. There is a kinda "synth" or "electronics" on the guitars that goes throughout the entire album. I personally like it and think Within The Ruins pulls it off pretty well and not to much to the point the album feels fake or to electronic or anything. At least in my opinion. So yeah, check these guys out if you haven't already.

Shokran: Supreme Truth
Shokran is a progressive Deathcore band. I just recently learned about Shokran. Before I continue I'm going to start doing more underground and unsigned bands. Because I named this page underground for a reason. I'm starting with Shokran because I really haven't been into Metalcore that much. I'm really into Death and Progressive Metal nowadays. Shokran released an album titled "Supreme Truth" this year and it's nothing short of great. The best thing about it is:There is an instrumental version! (: It's filled with some pretty good riffage, singing and a pretty cool Egyptian theme throughout the album. That's all I really have to say about about Shokran. I'd have to say my favorite tracks are either Collapses or Ghost Ruins. Link to stream and buy album will be below. Consider buying the album filled with 15 songs of riffage, solos, djent and Egyptian theme badassery. Support the genre and musicians! Enjoy.

The Color Morale:Hold On Pain Ends:Review
I went out Friday and got the album from F.Y.E. I went home right away and popped in my computer. And honestly, the album isn't bad...but it's a huge disappointment, also I can't stand the lyrics on this album..it's all about cutting and scars and etc. Just so lame. Their lyrics were awesome on Know Hope because it talked about actually knowing hope, and turning negativity into something positive without being entirely emo about it. Sure some people need that, but it's annoying. Anyway enough of Know Hope, amazing album btw. Hold On Pain Ends is probably the lyrically the worst album out of TCM's 4 albums. For Example "
I know some days I wish I could just erase the past
but if I hide my wounds ashamed then you'd never know we’re the same.
Let my darkness illuminate take my hand and let me light your way.
Just keep the blood inside your veins." Just so lame to me. Lyrics are taken from "Developing Negative(Ft.Craig Owens) The music itself isn't to bad, it sounds a bit like Know Hope...with a bit more soft and emo. It sounds less Hardcore or Metalcore then ever. I think that's due to the lack of growls, which are still there probably because of the producer who worked on TCM with the album. Garett himself said he didn't really like the growls because you wouldn't scream at anyone that way in a real life situation. All the songs all the album at least try to be heavy...but when you listen to the lyrics...it's just takes from ALL of the impact of it all, in my honest opinion. I love The Color Morale, my favorite band in this genre. The album isn't a bad album, but every album before it is SO much better, when it comes to instruments and delivering a message. Overall, the album is just okay, it's decent. But if you're expecting another good Hardcore from the TCM then you'll be disappointed. I give it a 6/10. Honestly, if you haven't been a fan of TCM until today, it's probably won't be worth the listen to you. If you enjoy the lyrics then I suppose you'd rate it higher. Anyway, enjoy the song below.

Pentakill
I don't know how plays in the band Pentakill, because it's a League Of Legends(Riot) made band. That's right, Riot paid musicians to make an 8 song album. But if I say myself, it's not bad at all. It's a metal band, power metal, though a few of the riffs like in song Deathfire Grasp are metalcoreish, but the chorus is Power Metal and I love it. I wasn't really expecting Pentakill to be as good as it is. But I'm really enjoying it. The Album is free, so I won't hurt to listen at all. Link will be below. I'd check it out.

Structures:Life Through A Window
Structures has released a new album "Life Through A Window". And straight to the point, i wasn't into it right away. But after a few listens it grew on me and I really started to enjoy it. I really like the songs "Buried", "Requiem and "The Worst Of Both Worlds". The new vocals weren't really doing it for me at first. I really felt like they lacked the punch and power of the last albums. But they grew on me and I appreciated what the new vocals DID bring to the plate this album. I really feel like these vocals have more of a hardcore feel to them, more emotion and that fit with the concepts and lyrics of most of the songs. Overrall, it's a solid listen and I reconmand checking it out if you're looking for something new. Though if you're expecting this album to be as crushing as the last album, you will disappointed, but the sexy riffing is still there to enjoy. Check em out.

The HAARP Machine
No point really in getting into how many members they have...because they have none. Apparently because the guitarist couldn't play this riffs live or I dunno. But I like the album they release. It's better fun, heavy. These guys made some good music before they broke up. Check it out.

Intervals
Intervals is a 4 piece Progressive Metal band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I've been listening to these guys since their EP and just recently heard "The Voice Within" and I gotta say, it's pretty amazing. Songs like "Automation" and "Moment Marauder" are pouring with feelings of nostalgia. Everything about this album is amazing. From vocals, instruments, mix and everything in between. Intervals isn't breaking any ground with being original, but they've taken common and uncommon elements to make a sound of their own. I was head banging and grooving through all 9 songs on the album. Check these guys out if you haven't. Their all instrumental EP is just as amazing. You won't regret checking these guys out. Enjoy the song below. (:

Periphery:Clear
This blog is pretty late, but, here it is. Periphery released their EP "clear". The EP isn't a replacement for their new album coming this year or the next called "Juggernaut". This EP was a way for the members from Periphery to each write, direct and play their own song. So keeping that in mind, there is a song from each member, so it isn't what you usually hear from Periphery, expect Misha's song "Zero". The EP is great, it's different, it's heavy, it's poppy, like I said it's different. Song Below, enjoy..ya, this is a little short, but I'm not feeling very motivated about this EP anymore. It was good, but nothing I'd listen for hours on end like Periphery and Periphery II. So enjoy, or not.

Animals As Leaders:The Joy Of Motion
AAL's new album is finally out on iTunes, PlayStore and Spotify...and bunch of our stores I'd guess Fye or Best Buy. Not sure if Hot Topic sells any metal, mostly FIR, BvB, Post-Hardcore etc, at least in my stores..anyway. It's Out, It's Amazing, It's Technical, It's Djent, It's Funky, It's Groovy, it's everything you'd expect from AAL and more. I personally feel like this album has so much more soul then the last album, my favorite song so far would be Para Mexer or Physical Education, the whole album is freaking great, but I find myself repeating those two songs over and over. I don't have time for a full review or anything along those lines, but this album is gold, you won't regret it. If you aren't listening to AAL already, get on it, these guys are sick. Tosin and Javier are totally geniuses. Also Check Out Metis! Songs below, enjoy.~

Elenora: Said The Sapling To The Sun
I haven't covered Elenora, here, and I'm not sure why. So I'll do it now: Elenora is a 6 piece Melodic Hardcore band, and they're pretty good in this genre if you ask me. These guys come from Oregon. Like any Melodic Hardcore Band, these have some pretty catchy melodies, and the hardcore parts and hardcore, and to be honest, the screams on their newest screams would probably some of the worst I've ever heard if it didn't fit with the clean vocalist so well. The cleans are damn good, they're powerful, they have emotion and in my opinion, they aren't to high or anything like that. The vocals in this band are great. The instruments are what you'd expect from a band in this genre, Elenora pulls it off well, they also add keyboard intros and in other parts of their songs for extra melody and emotion. I Elenora does this well. I really feel like keyboards add a LOT of emotion to songs, it really help set a certain mood with the rest of the instruments if done right. That doesn't go without saying the usual Instruments aren't fully capable of doing that themselves. I wanna go on about the song, but I don't feel like it anymore. It's an improvement for the band, Check it out below.

Veil Of Maya
Today I'm gonna spend a little time talking about "Veil Of Maya". Now to be completely honest, I haven't heard a lot of their songs, nor do I know any of the members in this band besides Marc. The songs that come to mind from this band, that I think are worth listening to are "Vicious Circles", "Unbreakable", "Entry Level Exit Wounds" and "Mowgli". The band is signed to Sumerian Records and recently released a new single called "Subject Zero" which kinda sucked in my opinion. Check out the few songs listed besides them, I dunno if anything else they've released is anything good.

Periphery:Clear - Feed The Ground
Periphery is my favorite band in the entire world(minus The Color Morale) and while I was listening to Music Choice's Metal Channel because I barely watch TV anymore. I was on my laptop playing Tera, but I REALLY enjoyed the song, but I was to busy to look up from my laptop. So when when screams and vocals finally hit me, I was like "Periphery!?! Feed The Ground is Matt's song, and in my opinion it's a pretty structured song. Tho I enjoyed it....I don't really have much to say about it because it's only being shown on Music Choice and it isn't released on Youtube or Spotify as a single. So I've only heard it ONCE, and that isn't enough to take the entire song in. But I did enjoy, and wish I could link a video. But if you have comcast, tune into the metal channel, you might catch the song.
