Astraus

I found this band yesterday looking for underground bands to blog about. I dunno if it's just me but these guys sound like Periphery to me. I don't know much about that, but I wanna blog about them. They released an EP that I haven't gotten the chance to learn yet. The one I did hear was titled "Mirrors" and it reminds me very much of Periphery. Check it Out below.

League Of Legends:Warriors(Imagine Dragons)

Riot and Imagine Dragons teamed up to make a song and video for the 2014 World Championships. I like it and thought it was worth just bringing up in the blog. The video is pretty neat and shows the..I guess struggle or feelings in general of being competeitve and taking part in these Championships. It's really hard work, and this is slowly realized as a sport. People debate about it all the time, but I believe LoL and other games like WoW should be considered sports "E-Sports". The world is changing and the way we play sports and what's considered sports should and will grow as we as a people grow. So yeah, that's my two cent. Check out the video and song below.

Affiance: FIRE!

I've talked about Affiance already on this blog. But I wanted to talk about this SICK video they recently made for "FIRE!". And the new album I wanted to buy and review on this blog soon. But they're literally ON FIRE. I'm not sure how it's done, I think it's some kind of flame retardant oil or something. It's a pretty sick video and the song is pretty good too. Affiance is slowly becoming one of my favorite metalcore bands. They don't exactly sound like Protest The Hero but there are similarities and Dennis is such a sick vocalist. Check out the song and video below.

For All I Am:Update

I've already talked about on this blog. I'm just dicussing the fact that they have recently changed labels and the new album is coming pretty cool. They recently released a new single titled "Six Souls". The songs is pretty..well, it's for For All I Am and they're metalcore. The verses don't really stick out to me at all, the chrous is catchy and the breakdown at the end is..okay. The song is meh, tbh. It's missing something from the last album, I felt that way about the swallowed alive aswell. But this song is a step up from "Swallowed Alive" and the vocals are a step up as well, it shows the vocalist can at handle(in the studio) both harsh and cleans vocals. I'll see what it goes. Six Souls below, take a listen if you like Metalcore.

Kingdom Of Giants

Kingdom Of Giants is a metalcore recently signed to invouge records. Kingdom Of Giants are a pretty decent a band in my opinion. Kinda generic, but still listenable to me, because I'm a fan of metalcore music. The band recently played on Warped Tour and is now releasing their 2nd Full Length Album from Invouge Records. The Last Album was named "Every Wave Of Sound" and they band had lost a vocalist and the their lead has now picked up singing for the band. It's decent on the 1st album, but I predict that the cleans will be better on the upcoming album "Ground Culture. If you're into Metal-Core I'd suggest checking em out on Spotify or Youtube. The song below is from their new album. Enjoy

Within The Ruins

Within The Ruins is a progressive DeathCore band. I found out about them over the summer and I think they're pretty good. I'm listened to Invade, Elite and Phenomena. I have to say I like Elite the most and Phenomena is probably my second favorite album from them so far. Hopefully I can pick up both this weekend. The band is pretty good, the lyrics are typical on Elitle. But on Phoenea there is a concept based on Marvel and DC Comics, for example "Gods Among Men" is about Professor Xavier and Magneto having a back and force kinda debate and argument. It's pretty good and the song is pretty sick. There is a kinda "synth" or "electronics" on the guitars that goes throughout the entire album. I personally like it and think Within The Ruins pulls it off pretty well and not to much to the point the album feels fake or to electronic or anything. At least in my opinion. So yeah, check these guys out if you haven't already.

Shokran: Supreme Truth

Shokran is a progressive Deathcore band. I just recently learned about Shokran. Before I continue I'm going to start doing more underground and unsigned bands. Because I named this page underground for a reason. I'm starting with Shokran because I really haven't been into Metalcore that much. I'm really into Death and Progressive Metal nowadays. Shokran released an album titled "Supreme Truth" this year and it's nothing short of great. The best thing about it is:There is an instrumental version! (: It's filled with some pretty good riffage, singing and a pretty cool Egyptian theme throughout the album. That's all I really have to say about about Shokran. I'd have to say my favorite tracks are either Collapses or Ghost Ruins. Link to stream and buy album will be below. Consider buying the album filled with 15 songs of riffage, solos, djent and Egyptian theme badassery. Support the genre and musicians! Enjoy.

The Color Morale:Hold On Pain Ends:Review

I went out Friday and got the album from F.Y.E. I went home right away and popped in my computer. And honestly, the album isn't bad...but it's a huge disappointment, also I can't stand the lyrics on this album..it's all about cutting and scars and etc. Just so lame. Their lyrics were awesome on Know Hope because it talked about actually knowing hope, and turning negativity into something positive without being entirely emo about it. Sure some people need that, but it's annoying. Anyway enough of Know Hope, amazing album btw. Hold On Pain Ends is probably the lyrically the worst album out of TCM's 4 albums. For Example "

I know some days I wish I could just erase the past

but if I hide my wounds ashamed then you'd never know we’re the same.

Let my darkness illuminate take my hand and let me light your way.

Just keep the blood inside your veins." Just so lame to me. Lyrics are taken from "Developing Negative(Ft.Craig Owens) The music itself isn't to bad, it sounds a bit like Know Hope...with a bit more soft and emo. It sounds less Hardcore or Metalcore then ever. I think that's due to the lack of growls, which are still there probably because of the producer who worked on TCM with the album. Garett himself said he didn't really like the growls because you wouldn't scream at anyone that way in a real life situation. All the songs all the album at least try to be heavy...but when you listen to the lyrics...it's just takes from ALL of the impact of it all, in my honest opinion. I love The Color Morale, my favorite band in this genre. The album isn't a bad album, but every album before it is SO much better, when it comes to instruments and delivering a message. Overall, the album is just okay, it's decent. But if you're expecting another good Hardcore from the TCM then you'll be disappointed. I give it a 6/10. Honestly, if you haven't been a fan of TCM until today, it's probably won't be worth the listen to you. If you enjoy the lyrics then I suppose you'd rate it higher. Anyway, enjoy the song below.
